Arse fan Barnes not keen on Spurs

Gilles Barnes, another product of the Derby academy, today stated his desire to play for Derby in the Premier league.

Linked with Spurs since his old room-mate Huddlestone left the club, Barnes was quoted as saying "it was Arsenal, and not Tottenham, who were my favourite club when I was growing up and so I am looking forward to the chance of playing for Derby at Emirates Stadium."

I can't help but think it would have been different had Derby not won their play-off on Monday. At least, come 2008, he will have played a full season in the Premier league, should Spurs try for his services again.
